Description

Commemorated on the 4th Sunday before Lent, the parable of the Publican and the Pharisee marks the beginning of the pre-Lent period in the Orthodox Church. In this parable, the Lord Jesus teaches us to pray with humility, and not to exalt ourselves, for we have all sinned and none are worthy before God.

This 14th century icon is from Serbia.

    Blessed craft

Posted by Rev. Kevin R. DeCantillon on Jun 13th 2018

This icon holds a special place in my heart as I move within my spiritual journey. It is sublime and produced with a great love. The colors are subtle and filled with a depth of care. If you cherish (or rely upon) the Jesus Prayer, this blessed craft and vision belongs in your home. Peace.
