    A Most Splendid Icon

Posted by James on May 28th 2020

This is a wonderful icon and is made to the highest quality. I bought it in extra large and the clarity of the image is very high considering that the original icon itself shows signs of aging where the paint has been eroded. This icon almost looks as if it was painted onto the canvas rather than printed so this a must buy icon.

    beautiful colors, poignant icon

Posted by Unknown on Jul 24th 2017

The blue in this icon is very beautiful and form a cross that divides the four major scenes. I like that this Good Friday icon does not depict Christ's resurrection, but creates space for the meditating Christian to anticipate it...reminds me of how believers are called to live by faith, not by sight. This icon can be especially meaningful for those in difficult circumstances as they consider the sufferings of Christ for the greater joy set before Him, and reflect on the truth that though weeping may tarry for a night, rejoicing (though not immediately in sight) does come in the morning.
