Description

Saint Chloe was a citizen of Corinth and a co-worker of the Apostle Paul. She was concerned about divisions forming within the Church of that city, and she rushed to Ephesus to ask Saint Paul for help (I Corinthians 1:11). From this, we can see that she loved the Body of Christ and desired unity within it.

This is a lesson for us; we must also seek unity within our local churches. If there is a division among its members, we ought to imitate Chloe and seek the help of the priest or bishop in order to restore peace and unity under Christ.

Little else is known about Chloe's life. In the ancient Church of Corinth she was commemorated on the Sunday after February 13.

This icon is offered by Legacy Icons with the permission of the iconographer, Brian Matthew Whirledge.
