Natural Onion Skin Red Egg Dye Kit

After years of testing countless recipes for the best natural red egg dye for Pascha and Easter celebrations, we have finally perfected the process. And we've made it incredibly easy for your family to enjoy this activity together!

It starts with locally grown heirloom onions—we can see the family-owned farm from our office! The dried skins contain a natural organic dye that produces gorgeous maroon-red Easter eggs. Following our simple instructions that we have developed through extensive testing, you can produce beautiful deep red eggs at home with virtually no mess. And you won't be left with a giant bag of onions that will need to be used!

Your onion skins come bagged in an unbleached 100% compostable bag. Simply steep the entire bag in hot water to make the organic red dye. When you're done, the skins, bag and all, can be safely composted. Onion skin dye is food-safe, organic, and chemical-free for a green and planet-friendly alternative to chemical dyes. (And unlike food coloring, priests and parents will appreciate that eggs dyed with onion skins won't leave a staining residue on the fingers.)

• Home Size: Contains the dried skins of 8-10 pounds of raw onions, enough to dye one to two dozen eggs.
• Church Size: Contains the dried skins of 12-15 pounds of raw onions, enough to dye three to four dozen eggs.
