Description

This miracle is recorded by all four of the Evangelists in their Gospels. In the wilderness near Bethsaida, the Lord had compassion on the crowds and miraculously multiplied five loaves and two fish to feed 5000 men, with the women and children besides. Saint John's Gospel presents the miracle as further proof that Jesus is the awaited Messiah of Israel.

This Russian icon was painted in the 19th century. The original icon is about 25x30 inches, available in our Cathedral Size section.
