Description

With this amazing candle incense burner, exclusively from Legacy Icons, combine the gentle fragrance of your favorite incense and the gentle glow of candle light as you offer your prayers to God. Ideal for homes where low smoke and no mess is necessary or desired, while still using incense in prayer.

This incredible incense burner, available in your choice of brass, nickel, and 22-kt gold finishes, uses a candle instead of charcoal, resulting in a cleaner burn of pure incense fragrance. The small amount of smoke generated is pure incense fragrance, with no smoky charcoal odor.

It also features an inscription of Psalm 140:2 around the tray: "Let my prayer arise in Thy sight as incense, the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice."

The height of the incense pan is adjustable for more or less heat and smoke. (5.5 inches tall)

Use & Safety Tips

  • To use, place a tea light candle in the bottom tray and light it. Place incense into the incense pan. It will begin emitting fragrance within about 30 seconds.
  • Incense burners become hot during use. Handle with care! This censer is designed for stationary use, not to be carried around.
  • For best results, use beeswax tea light candles. Regular paraffin candles emit black soot that will quickly coat the bottom of the incense pan.
  • To clean, allow the censer to cool completely and gently scrape the carbonized incense off the grate with your fingers or a non-abrasive tool such as a toothbrush. Freezing the grate can make stubborn pieces more brittle and easier to remove.
  • Place a small piece of aluminum foil on the grate and put the incense on the foil for effortless cleanup. This is especially recommended for incenses with a low melting point, such as Amber.
  • Resin incenses are flammable in certain circumstances. We recommend using aluminum foil with these fragrances in particular.
  • Do not overload the incense pan. One to three pieces of incense is enough for most uses.
  • Always use tongs or a spoon to handle incense grains in the censer.

    Very neat burner

Posted by Cecil on Jun 14th 2024

I finally made the change from stick incense and this burner does not disappoint. I can use any tea light and I can buy incense in larger quantities. Bought it with some of the Paschalia incense on here and it serves us well during our morning and evening prayer.

    Game changer!

Posted by Gregg on Jan 16th 2023

I purchased one of these with a sceptic attitude. Boy, was I wrong! This is the best burner I have ever used. The incense smell is improved by not burning, but vaporizing the resin. It is even better when you use olive oil in a foil liner with the resin. Very economical because of how long the resin lasts, also. Beautiful presentation as well. Artistic use of the light from the tea light candle. To me, it makes the entire experience more calming. Highly recommend.

    Major Design Flaw

Posted by Ben Kennedy on May 9th 2021

I love the concept of this device. However, the piece I got has a screw so short that it is almost impossible to attach the incenser proper to the base without spending lots of time and patience. It just needed to be as short as .5 cm longer to make it a perfect device.

    Awesome Burner

Posted by Paul Manning on Dec 23rd 2020

This awesome burner. But always make certain you have a few extra screens. By the way this company is great. My job takes me outside the US and they always manage to get the incense or supplies to me quickly. Service can be defined by their attitude.

Well built and fantastic customer service

Posted by Joseph Galbraith on Oct 9th 2020

I love this so much. I must say that Legacy went out of their way to accommodate and assist me. I had bought the standard burner, and for whatever reasons I had a lot of difficulty with it. They sent me parts, I was still having issues, so they offered me the deluxe. It is beautiful, well built, and perfect for my needs.

    Deluxe Smokeless Incense Burner

Posted by Sean Chappe on Aug 19th 2020

Can anyone get this to actually melt the incense? I really want this to work! --- Legacy Icons Response: Hi Sean, the incense does not liquefy or melt, even with direct heat.

    Superior product

Posted by Uhl Fr Luke on Jul 29th 2020

A very interesting “new” product for an ancient practice. Ideal for apartment use. This model is stylish - modern - and a good “conversation piece.” I found putting a small circle of foil {1" diameter) on top of the metal grate to hold the incense works best for me.

    Perfect

Posted by Benjamin Kurtz on Jul 25th 2020

This has just the perfect amount of smoke and a blessed addition to my prayers. With the restrictions from COVID protocols we have limited attendance to the Divine Liturgy and when I am watching and praying with the church on the streaming feed, though not the same as being together in the temple, going to my Icon corner and having the aroma of the incense makes it easier in these difficult times. My wife is not a fan of incense, but I think it os more from the charcoal or general poor quality of stick incense; the incense that came with the kit are just so much better it does not even compare. I highly recommend this as an addition to anyone's Icon corner.

    Smokless Incense Burner

Posted by Calvin Bell on May 22nd 2020

I like this burner, however have found that using the beeswax candles is problematic. The first half hour of burning is great, however for whatever reason the flame gets smaller and smaller regardles of the amount of melted wax in the plastic container. Do you remove the candle from the container. If so cleanup? --- Legacy Icons Response: Hi Calvin, the flame is affected by the amount of wax remaining and the length of the wick. A longer wick and more liquid wax will create a taller flame. If the flame is not adequate for the effect you are trying to achieve, we recommend moving the incense pan down, closer to the flame.

    Ingenious but Underperforms

Posted by Timothy Capps on May 9th 2020

Disclaimer: there is no such thing as too much incense, but my wife likes to dramatically choke when she enters the room. At least I think it’s my wife, but if I am doing it right I can’t see who she is! So, I’m reduced to this ingenious and attractive device that doesn’t give off much smoke or, unfortunately, scent. Maybe it depends on which incense you use. I will say I seem to recall better performance with the original plastic cased tea lights. The ordinary metal ones like you might find at Hobby Lobby don’t seem to burn as well. I would order the original kind, but don’t find them sold separately and Legacy did not respond to my inquiry. So, this seems to be a work in progress for me—right incense prepared correctly, proper candles—before I could say they meet my expectation. As for use, it’s pretty simple but requires care because every part of the metal gets really hot, so you probably won’t be adjusting anything after a few minutes. ---- Legacy Icons response: If you move the incense pan down closer to the flame, it will generate more smoke. You might also try placing a little aluminum foil in the tray under the incense, to diffuse the heat more. We do recommend the use of beeswax tea light candles.
