When Thou didst submit Thyself unto death, O Thou deathless and immortal One, then Thou didst destroy hell with Thy godly power..." — Troparion of the Resurrection, Tone 2
On Great and Holy Friday, our Lord is seen hanging upon the Cross, lifeless but victorious. His Mother and the beloved apostle John weep, along with the angels and all creation. The skull of Adam lies at the base of the Cross, for death has given birth to Life in the form of the life-giving Tree of the Cross. This 13th-century icon comes from the Sinai region.

I hang it in my living room. It looks very nice, and is a testimony to all who enter.
