The Theotokos of Kazan has been popular in Russia since the 16th century. The wonderworking original of this icon traveled from Constantinople to Russia in the 13th century. It disappeared when the Tatars overtook Kazan in 1438, and reappeared over a century later, an event commemorated on July 8.
The original of this icon is approximately 24x30 inches; order this Cathedral size for a near-actual size replica of the original 19th century icon.
