Description
This icon is a beautiful Byzantine portrayal of the Old Testament Prophet Zephaniah. A contemporary of the Prophet Jeremiah, he lived during the time of King Josiah and was instrumental in helping to eliminate idolatry and prepare Israel for its impending exile. One of the ‘minor prophets,’ the Prophet Zephania holds an important place in the Scriptures and Church history. Handcrafted in Legacy Icons’ woodshop with quality materials, this icon faithfully depicts the prophet receiving and giving his message from God. Also known as Sofonias, the Holy Prophet Zephaniah’s feast day is commemorated on December 3.
