Description
This 18th century icon depicts the Guardian Angel, the faithful companion and ever-present protector of every baptized Christian. The icon of the Guardian Angel is a perfect baptism gift.
Surrounding the Angel are many scenes, typical of the life of a Christian. At the top, Christ is seen sending His Angels as ministering spirits. The Angel defends against the demons while we are asleep and reading the scriptures. He teaches us to worship Christ and to repent of our sins. According to tradition, the Guardian Angel will comfort the soul after death and will stand beside it at the judgment.
The Guardian Angel is commemorated on November 8, together with all the Angels.

My husband and I really love this icon with all the different scenes where the Angel is with one, I have it at the bottom of my staircase to remind me of my angel's protection. I do wish I had gotten the large size.

Beautiful, inspirational icon
I love all the scenes and symbols in this icon! It brings my awareness to the "jobs" of our guardian angels, some of which I had not considered before. It's nice to study it and meditate. The colors are rich (not quite as glowy as the preview image) and the detail is beautiful. I rather wish I'd gone for M instead of S, as the image turns out small, but it is still very nice. Legacy Icons does a great job with sturdy construction, and the whole shipment was packed securely. The only reason I chose 4 stars instead of 5 is that the textured finish over the image makes it hard to see details at this size if there is glare from light. Would recommend size M for that reason.

Great gift!
I bought this for a Turkish international student for his baptism while he was in the states. This gave me the change to explain Guardian Angels to him and it reminds him that he has an angel with him always. A wonderful gift.

Guardian Angel Icon
I purchased this icon as a gift for a non-Orthodox baby prior to his birth. Actually, I purchased two identical icons - one for the baby and one for his non-Orthodox grandmother. I created a gift card with an explanation of guardian angels and told the baby-to-be that he should keep this icon always and in times of trouble the icon should remind him that he is not alone - that those visible and invisible are praying constantly for his well-being.
