Description
This is an authentic, hand-crafted reproduction of the oil lamps in common use in biblical times. Simply insert the included wick and add olive oil.
Because these lamps are made in Bethlehem with real fired clay, they may slowly become saturated with oil over time. This is authentic and normal. We recommend placing the lamp on a saucer to prevent any spilled oil from damaging other surfaces.
Safety Tips
- Do not burn lamps unattended. Children should not use fire unattended.
- Keep flammable items away from the lamp, especially above it.

Light for my prayer corner
This little lamp has been the light for my prayer corner since I built it. Yes the unfinished clay leaks, so I put it in a saucer and reuse what leaks out. This little lamp has no problems lighting a room during evening prayer.

Beautiful lamps
This is so cool to have to help bring the Bible to life for us and our children when we read in the Bible and lamps are mentioned, especially the parable of the 10 virgins.

Pretty and authentic
This is a sweet little clay lamp! It works well with the long wicks. Because it is unglazed clay it does leak oil from the bottom so it's helpful to put it on a saucer or something heat resistant that will catch the oil. I'm very happy with this authentic style oil lamp. I light it in the morning and if I am home all day let it burn til bedtime in my prayer corner. Be aware that if it is used it will, like any used oil lamp, collect soot around the wick entrance and look used instead of retaining it's lovely, clean, unused patina. Whether as a decoration or a useful oil lamp it is a pretty addition to the prayer corner.

Don't overlook this beauty
Gift others with this find of the decade! Beautiful, made in Bethlehem, well priced, unusual and authentic. Light on icons is just lovely. I like the sealed version, less leakage at first. Add a few drops of essential oils to olive oil or it will release a strong odor when extinguished.
