Description
From the earliest period of Christianity, the faithful have portrayed Christ and His mother the Theotokos in veneration. Painted by the hand of Vladmir Grygorenko, this icon set of Christ and the Theotokos is a beautiful addition to home prayer corners following in the ancient tradition of iconography. The icon of Christ, who holds the Gospel in one hand and blesses the beholder with the other, is closely based in design from the well-known Christ Pantocrater icon of Mount Sinai. The icon of the Theotokos matches well in this set in color and design placement, giving a sense of balance to both icons.
