Smells amazing
It smells just like my church. It gives off a nice smell for a long time without smelling burnt. It really helps if you put it on the side of the charcoal instead of on top. No problems with this incense, it's my go-to so far.

Quintessential
There are many types of scents offered by the monasteries that make Athonite incense. However, Byzantine is the most unique and special and you can't go wrong if this is the only one you try and use. Even the recipes are different depending on the monastery, but the effect is the same.

Best incense for smokeless burner
I bought the smokeless incense burner from Legacy Icons, and thought I would give this incense a try. You will need to put a piece of foil on the grille, as this is a variety that gets very soft and gooey when it gets hot. It will last a very long time using the smokeless incense burner, maybe 5 or 6 hours. If you use this one with charcoal instead, make sure you use a big enough piece of charcoal so the melting incense doesn't smother it. Or, cut the incense carefully with a very sharp knife, as it is soft enough even at room temperature.

I absolutely LOVE this incense, it gives my home a mystical appeal without being too strong.

Melts
This incense has a wonderful fragrance, but it melts, covering the charcoal, and even causes the charcoal to not burn completely.

Not My Favorite
This has a strongly perfumed scent, which I almost find overpowering. In addition, the pellets melt rather than burn clean, making a mess of my censor that I then have to clean. The smell is nice, but I probably won't be ordering this again.
