The Nicene Creed is the basic faith statement of Christianity, a summary of the entire Faith. It was promulgated at the First Ecumenical Council (Nicaea I) and completed at the Second Ecumenical Council (Constantinople I). The Creed is also known as "The Symbol of Faith." In historic Christian liturgy, it is a central part of the Eucharistic celebration.
With this elegant, hand-crafted plaque from Legacy Icons (size 8x24 inches), you can treasure and meditate on these words every day.
Please note that this contains the original Greek form of the Creed, as proclaimed at Nicaea and Constantinople and as used in the Orthodox Church. It does not contain the much later Western addition of the filioque (the Holy Spirit's procession from the Father "and the Son"). Many Western Christian denominations today are moving to embrace the older text without the additional phrase.
